How to Pluck a Pig

We normally think of plucking chickens but it's just as important that the diners "pluck the pig" before cooking it in a mumu. Pigs, of course, are not very clean animals so to ensure good hygene for the meal the hair must be burned off and then all the stubble is carefully plucked out using a knife.  Here the young men take turns doing the hard work of pouring hot water and removing the hair. Once the hair is removed the pig can be gutted and made ready to be put in the mumu.
