Prayer Request & Praise Reports
Praise
For the interest our Mesem friends have shown in learning more about the Old Testament and how it relates to the New Testament. As Neil goes through Hebrews with the men, they understand not only the New Testament more clearly but the Old Testament as well. Thomas Weber is recovering well.
For a good start on the university outreach that would begin in October.
For a two new Bible studies started in the last two months!
Prayer
We are thankful for the many open doors and the amount of translation and evangelism we have been able to do. However, I (kathy) have been having recurring problems with infections and being quite run down. We'd be thankful for your prayers to have the daily strength and stamina to keep up with all that is happening.
We have been unable to recover from the bank a large sum of money that we've been told is to be credited back to us. We've been waiting nine months for this and the bank seems in no hurry to fix this. We need it urgently as the drunk driver who hit our truck, has disappeared and will not pay for the damages done to our vehicle. We've got to cover it or the truck won't pass inspection and we live 20 or so from town. We can't work effectively without transport. Please pray the bank comes good and the man who is responsible to pay for the repairs will act responsibly.
A new Bible study will be starting for expatriates living in Goroka. For those who do not speak Pidgin and/or did not grow up in a church environment we'd like to have a gathering established where people can ask questions and learn about the Lord without having to jump language and culutral barriers. This will not take away from our work with PNG friends, but simply allow another outreach to non-Papua New Guineans who are in the country for business.
